I think about this often: When Im sobbing over a news report about a toddler orphaned after his parents are swept up in an ICE raid, asking myself, How are you helping, other than donating money here and there and sharing Instagram stories? When Im imagining what Ill one day tell my children I did for the people who were scared and suffering back in 2026, when Im reading a post that commands me to reject hopelessness and get involved in my community, I immediately start to hear my own excuses about work and kids and energy and time
Quitting is hard, but your chances of being successful go up exponentially if you prepare to quit, find a way to suppress the urges, and make a few lifestyle changes to deter yourself from smoking
You might have guessed that not only do they encounter a bit of bad luck, their own helplessness and the fact that they don't actually know what they are doing isn't helping either
These symptoms happen because the body and brain got used to nicotine, and they dont have it anymore
